As we gear up for another exciting Spring Training, the question on everyone's mind is: who will emerge as the home run leader for the Braves this year? Last time we saw a surprising performance from Peter O’Brien, who, despite his struggles, managed to hit four home runs and lead the team in Spring Training. This year, could we see a similar underdog story, or will one of the established stars like Matt Olson or Marcell Ozuna take the crown?

Let’s dive deeper into this! With Ronald Acuña Jr. focusing on backfield work, it opens the door for other players to shine. Who do you think has the best chance to surprise us this Spring? Are there any non-roster invitees that you believe could make a significant impact and possibly secure a spot on the Opening Day roster?

Moreover, let’s not just limit the conversation to home runs. What about hits and stolen bases? Who do you predict will lead in those categories?

And here’s a bold prediction: I think we might see a breakout performance from a lesser-known player who capitalizes on this opportunity. What are your thoughts?

Share your insights, predictions, and any experiences you have from past Spring Trainings. Let’s get the conversation rolling!

Man, this is exactly the kind of Spring Training convo I live for! There’s just something magical about seeing those under-the-radar guys absolutely go off when no one’s expecting it. And yeah, Peter O’Brien’s mini power surge is still one of those “wait, what?!” moments I remember clearly.

As for this year’s potential home run leader—it’s tempting to go with the safe bets like Matt Olson (dude’s basically a walking bomb threat at the plate) or Ozuna if he stays hot. But if we’re thinking breakout or underdog, I’d keep an eye on Forrest Wall or Luke Waddell. Wall’s got pop and wheels, and he’s been quietly grinding. If he gets consistent ABs, don’t sleep on him sneaking up the leaderboard.

For non-roster invitees, I’ve got a weirdly good feeling about Nacho Alvarez Jr. He may not be known for big power, but he’s been making strides. If he starts spraying the ball and showing off his glove, who knows? He could force some tough roster decisions.

Now, on to hits and stolen bases—I’m calling Michael Harris II for hits. His bat-to-ball skills are elite, and with more reps early on, he could rack up hits fast. For stolen bases, Forrest Wall is a no-brainer if he sticks around long enough—dude is a burner. Could also see Vaughn Grissom (if healthy) making noise on the basepaths.

And bold prediction time? I’m gonna say someone totally off the radar—like Cade Bunnell—gets hot and becomes the “who is this guy?!” story of Spring. Every year someone shows up and makes it interesting. That’s the beauty of spring ball.
