Why are we even entertaining this? Is this a sign of Devers' future departure? Or is there some wild positional switch-up Alex Cora is cooking up that we haven't even considered?

The report also mentions the Sox pursuing pitching, specifically Fried or Burnes. Great pitchers, no doubt, but does adding another big contract make sense if we are supposedly trying to keep Devers long-term? Something doesn't add up.
