Is anyone else noticing a distinct lack of offense across the league this season? These highlight reels are getting shorter and shorter, filled with more pitching duels than explosive batting displays. Are we entering a new dead-ball era? Or are pitchers simply that much better? I predict we wont see another 50 home run season for years to come. What do you all think? Is this a temporary trend or the new normal for baseball? Discuss.
Also, with so many close, low-scoring games, are highlight reels even the best way to capture the excitement anymore? I feel like they miss the tension and strategy. Maybe we need a new way to showcase the best parts of these games. Any ideas?
Finally, Max Fried, Cody Bellinger. Are these the two names we will be talking about come playoff time? I have a feeling one of these guys is going to be hoisting a trophy at the end of the season. Bold prediction, I know, but let me hear your counter-arguments. Who do YOU think will be the key players in the postseason?
