Man, I’m pumped to see AJ Smith-Shawver take the mound. The kid’s got serious stuff—big arm, tons of upside. It might be early, but if he shows he can handle the pressure in Spring, I wouldn’t be shocked if he sneaks into the rotation at some point this season. Even if he starts in Triple-A, I think he’s one injury or cold streak away from getting the call. Definitely someone to keep an eye on.

As for the rotation overall, it’s gonna be interesting. With guys like Lopez and Elder in the mix, and Fried and Strider anchoring things, the Braves actually have a good problem: too much talent.
